There is research from 2006 that points to hydration as helping ease disease. Although it does not point directly to dehydration, it does point to water and salt as the solution.

Fibromyalgia has in the past been called arthritis of the muscles. It is much more. Fibromyalgia is diagnosed by numerous signs and symptoms. We propose that anything helping the individual symptoms would presumably help the condition.

The most common symptoms of FM that are also found in other diseases or conditions respond well to the water cures protocol. Musculoskeletal pain all over the body, fatigue and tenderness to numerous points on the body are separately easily managed eliminated with the water cures.

Likewise, headaches, visual disturbances, auditory disturbances, balance, coordination and gait are improved by eating sea salt and drinking water.

Neurological Signs and Symptoms in Fibromyalgia

In this study, it was found that those with fibromyalgia had abnormalities of cranial nerves IX and X.

Symptoms affecting the neurological systems were found to be more common in the fibromyalgia group.

The neurological signs point to the likely craniocervical neuroanatomic cause for the fibromyalgia symptom complex, such as Chairi I malformation, abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal, or positional cervical compression (when you move your back).

Symptoms From The Study

Those with fibromyalgia had more neurological symptoms than those in the control group.

These symptoms were mostly neurological functioning. These included visual and auditory senses, the cerebellum, cranial nerves, respiration, and sensory and motor systems.

The most observed difference was “bright lights bother eyes” (The FM group, 70% vs. 6%), “poor balance” (63% vs. 4%; p<0.01), and “weakness” (the FM group 58% vs. 2%) and “tingling” (the FM group, 54% vs. 4%) in the “arms and legs.”

This is fascinating as it is doctors saying that oral hydration could actually be more effective that a saline IV because of the reaction of the stomach expansion. Every action creates a physiological reaction. The question, which is the best reaction. The natural ones would most likely be the best.

What Causes Fibromyalgia Mineral Deficiency?

Several studies point to a fibromyalgia mineral deficiency connection. This offers scientific evidence that the water cures protocol is an effective and viable way to treat fibromyalgia. Association between serum zinc level and number of tender points and the fatigue noted and magnesium level was notable. The results of this study points to serum magnesium and zinc levels as playing an important role in the pathophysiology of fibromyalgia.

Women with fibromyalgia have lower levels of calcium, magnesium, iron and manganese in hair mineral analysis. 2011

The conclusion, concentrations of calcium, magnesium, iron, and manganese in the hair of women with fibromyalgia were lower than those of controls.

Reduction of fibromyalgia symptoms through intravenous nutrient therapy: results of a pilot clinical trial.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a modified Myers’ intravenous nutrient therapy (IVNT) on the symptoms of fibromyalgia (FM) in therapy-resistant FM patients.

All had improvement in symptoms and increases in their activities of daily living, although no participant reported complete resolution of symptoms. IVNT appears to be safe to reduce FM.

Myer’s Cocktail: an intravenous vitamin-and-mineral formula which consists of magnesium, B vitamins, and vitamin C. It has been found effective for acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, cardiovascular disease, and other disorders.

The general effect of a Myers Cocktail intravenous therapy appears to be a marked improvement in the energy capacity and function of cells. If your cells can function at their best, it’s more likely you can recover from a serious health problem.

Balneotherapy for fibromyalgia at the Dead Sea. Rheumatol Int. 2001 Apr;20(3):105-8. The study was to evaluate the effectiveness of balneotherapy on patients with fibromyalgia (FM) at the Dead Sea.

With the exception of tenderness, the improvement was noted in the group receiving treatment and it lasted past 3 months. Reduced severity of fibromyalgia related symptoms (pain, fatigue, stiffness, and anxiety) and reduced frequency of symptoms (headache, sleep problems, and subjective joint swelling) were reported in both groups but the treatment group the relief lasted longer.

The conclusion, using balneotherapy at the Dead Sea is effective and safe and may become an additional therapeutic modality in fibromyalgia.

35 Years of Fibromyalgia Ended With Water Cures

Fay at 65 had been living with fibromyalgia for 35 years and every day was a struggle. She was one of the first to get the diagnoses first given a name of fibromyalgia in 1976.

How it Works

The water cure involves re-hydrating each and every cell in your body. We have two oceans of water within our body. One around our cells and one within our cells. When we drink water, our body easily sends water to the ocean around our cells.

To get the water into the cells, it is necessary to consume something that will cause the water to be attracted into or pulled into the cell. You no doubt have heard the term osmosis.

The American Heritage Dictionary definition of osmosis:


…a process where molecules of a solvent pass through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one until there is an equalization on both side of the membrane.”

When we take the unprocessed sea salt into our mouth to be absorbed into the mucous membranes of our mouth, it quickly goes into our blood. There it is delivered to body and it is attracted to the outside of each and every cell of our body. When the sodium is in the water outside the cell, the water inside (the less concentrated) is attracted out and the water out is attracted in.

The water inside the cells acts much like fresh water lakes inland from the oceans. In our cells there is a greater amount of potassium and outside a greater amount of sodium. Potassium is therefor also essential.

Note: If you eat a number of raw vegetables, nuts and beans rather than processed foods, you are probably getting enough potassium. Potassium supplements should only be taken under a doctors supervision. If you have kidney disease, you should consult a naturopathic physician before starting the water cures protocol.

It is in this process that the water now can re-hydrate each and every cell and the potentiation of healing takes place.

The popular theory of how water cures is that all disease is the side effect of dehydration. Therefore, if we properly hydrate our bodies, we can eliminate many diseases and relieve the symptoms of many conditions.

Please note that simply drinking water is not alone a cure all. We still need to consume the proper nutrients to have optimal health. We also need to avoid as much toxic exposure as we can. Likewise, we need to avoid consuming and exposure to poisons and heavy metals.

The water we consume along with the unprocessed sea salt allow for and help our body to eliminate the toxins, heavy metals and poisons that enter our body.

The Water Cures Protocol: The Most Important 5 Things to Do

To reduce medication errors, the health care team uses the “five rights” of medicine administration. These same rights apply to using water for optimal health. They are: the right patient, the right drug, the right dose, the right route, and the right time.

Right Patient

If you have kidney disease, any kind of salt metabolism problem or any serious disease and or are currently under medical treatment, then this is not for you. You should not follow this unless under the direction of your health care provider.

Right Drug

It is critical that the right water and the right kind of salt is used. The water needs to be chlorine free, preferably natural pure water. Note that even filtered water, if it was once chlorinated, has a signature or cellular memory of the chlorine. Optimal water is naturally pure water from a well or spring and stored in glass, not plastic.

The right salt is also essential. The best salt needs to be unprocessed sea salt or unprocessed mined salt. The three kinds of salt that work best are Celtic Sea Salt, Pink Himalayan sea salt and Real Salt.

The pink salt vibrates at the same atomic resonance that the human bodies cells do. In my personal experience, the Celtic Sea Salt works best for internal use and the pink salt works best for salt baths. How it works for each of us may be different.

Right Dose

Daily drink an amount of water that equals half your body weight in ounces. So if you were 200 pounds, you would drink 100 ounces of water daily. This amount will be divided into 5 or 6 and that is your individual dose.

Divide your body weight in pounds in half. This is how many ounces of water you will need to drink each day.

This is your ideal daily dose of water. If you are in extremely hot, dry conditions, your need will increase. If you are perspiring, exercising, working hard, or experiencing excessive mouth breathing, you will need to increase your water intake.

As recommended from the research of Dr. Batmanghelidj, for every 16 ounces of water, take 1/8th teaspoon of unprocessed sea salt, dissolved in the mouth.

Right Route

Before drinking the water, dissolve in your mouth 1/8th teaspoon of sea salt.

For some reason, this is the hardest part for some to get. When the water cure does not work, it is often because of dissolving the salt in the water and not in the mouth. This is essential, the salt needs to be dissolved in the mouth. Only in your mouth will it be able to be quickly absorbed into your blood and attract the water into your cells.

Right Time

Drink your appropriate amount of water within 20 min of awaking in the morning.

For best results, eat within 35-45 minutes.
