WHO warns of ‘global crisis’ over antibiotics resistance.

The World Health Organisation has warned the overuse of antibiotics is fuelling dangerously high resistance levels and called on individual countries to tackle misconceptions about the drugs.

Its latest survey of 12 countries shows many people misunderstand antibiotics and as a result are misusing them.

WHO survey found:

  • 64 per cent think antibiotics can treat cold and flu viruses.
  • 32 per cent think they can stop taking antibiotics once they felt better.
  • 66 per cent believe individuals are not at risk of a drug-resistant infection if they personally take their antibiotics as prescribed.
  • 64 per cent believe medical experts will solve the problem before it becomes too serious.
  • 44 per cent think antibiotic resistance is only a problem for people who take antibiotics regularly.
  • 57 per cent there is not much they they do to stop antibiotic resistance.

“The rise of antibiotic resistance is a global crisis,” said Margaret Chan, the global director of the WHO.

The WHO said misuse is pushing the world towards a “post-antibiotic era” in which common infections could once again claim lives.

“The threat is easy to describe: Antimicrobiol resistance is on the rise in every region of the worlds,” Ms Chan said.

Bacterial diseases are increasingly becoming immune to commonly used antibiotics, fuelling ‘super bugs’ that are resistant to treatment.

This latest WHO research was carried out in mostly developing countries, including Nigeria, Vietnam, and India.

Sixty-four per cent of respondents wrongly thought antibiotics would treat cold and flu viruses, while almost a third thought they could stop taking antibiotics once they felt better and it was not necessary to complete the course.

Keiji Fukuda, the WHO’s special representative for antimicrobial resistance, said the survey showed a disturbing lack of knowledge.

“The reason why this is so important is that this overuse and this misuse of these medicines is taking what happens normally – resistance can develop normally – it’s just really accelerating the process,” she said.

“It’s really jumping it up to a much faster speed.”

Part of the problem is the ease with which antibiotics can be obtained in some countries.

Forty-four per cent of Russians who had taken antibiotics in the past year had not been prescribed the drugs, while 5 per cent of Chinese users had ordered them off the internet.

‘Infections travel’

Professor Matt Cooper, based at the Centre for Superbug Solutions at the University of Queensland, said levels of misinformation about antibiotics were generally higher in the developing world but that has implications in Australia.

“[Bacteria] haven’t got any passports so of we have an issue in Russia or in the Middle East or South-East Asia, a lot of those infections travel,” he said.

“And they travel in people’s stomachs, and they travel when people cough on a plane, so it’s a global issue.

“Antibiotic resistant bacteria will spread around the world.”

However, he said Australians can still do their bit to prevent superbugs, including decreasing the amount of antibiotics they consume.

“An interesting survey from the Australian Medical Association showed two-thirds of doctors would prescribe an antibiotic if the patient asked for one,” he said.

“So clearly listen to your GP and if you have a severe infection go to your GP, but don’t expect to have antibiotics.

“Quite often it’s the case that you have a virus infection instead, and the antibiotics won’t help you.

“In fact they can disrupt your gut flora which can lead to problems like Crohn’s disease. Antibiotics are a precious resource, and if we misuse them it can create problems down the track.”

Professor Cooper said proper hand washing was also important, especially in hospitals.

In one recent incident, contaminated green onions were served to customers of a single restaurant in Pennsylvania, leading to a large outbreak of hepatitis A in the United States. And in Canada, over 19,000 people had to be vaccinated for the virus after a produce worker in a grocery store contaminated fruits and vegetables he was handling. How many incidents of produce contamination and infection go unreported each year is difficult to ascertain.

Meanwhile, the FDA not only employs questionable methods to kill pathogens in the nation’s commercial food supply, but oversights on the safety of both domestic and imported produce regularly fail.

In other words, rather than using synthetic fertilizers, chemicals and pesticides that are absorbed into the plants and can in turn contaminate human tissues and cause disease when you eat the fruits and vegetables, organic foods are grown the old-fashioned natural way. Decomposed organic material is used to nourish the plants, rather than synthetic fertilizers and chemicals, giving them added strength and nutritional density.

What’s more, because decomposed organic materials are full of beneficial SBO’s (i.e., soil-based organisms, ranging from earthworms, grubs and beetles, to colonies of beneficial microbes that help break-down the organic materials and release nutrients to the plants), it is well known that plants grown organically have far less chance of being contaminated through the soil by harmful pathogens while they are growing. That’s because the process of competitive inhibition helps prevent contamination.

In other words, the same plethora of beneficial SBO’s which help break down organic materials into simple nutrient molecules for plants to absorb also act to compete for territory with pathogens in the soil, and prevent those pathogens from colonizing and contaminating your plants.

In fact, foods grown in soil that is not rich in organic compost have far greater chances of picking up infectious microbes than foods grown in soils that are rich in organic compost. This is why, for example, crops grown on farms using modern artificial farming methods rather than old-fashioned organic farming methods are far more easily contaminated with potentially harmful pathogens when, say, farm workers relieve themselves in the fields rather than taking time to walk to a bathroom. When there are few SBO’s in the soil to compete for territory with pathogens, the pathogens can colonize and spread easily, and the crops can be quickly infected. But when organic farming methods are used, the dense concentrations of SBO’s in the soil help prevent pathogen contamination from spreading.

Artificial fertilizers and chemicals used in conventional gardening and farming also deplete the nutritional value of the food, whereas organic gardening and farming practices dramatically increase the nutritional value of food. A university study shows that organic foods have a higher nutritional value and they contain more healthful anti-carcinogenic properties. Most people say they taste better, too.

Studies also show that growing food organically dramatically increases yields. The increased productivity of the plants decreases overall production costs, as well. In short, organic gardening can provide you and your family with more safe, highly nutritious, inexpensive food than you may have thought possible.

Dangers of Irradiation

The FDA has approved the irradiation of the U.S. food supply without completely studying the possible effects on human health. Industrial byproducts of nuclear power plants, particularly EPA-regulated, cancer-causing cobalt-60, are used in this process. The FDA’s purpose in using these radioactive isotopes on our food is to “sterilize” it, so that it can be stored in warehouses and on store shelves for longer periods of time without spoiling.

They also irradiate food in an attempt to destroy harmful bacteria, but the process fails to fully address the fact that some pathogens simply aren’t deterred by radiation. As the author of this article, “The Unknown Dangers of Irradiation,” points out, “Some [bacteria] are not affected by dosage levels used on foods. These include the botulism-causing Clostridium and Deinococcus radiodurans, which actually repairs its own DNA after exposure. Surviving bacteria pose a concern because they inevitably produce resistant generations until irradiation becomes an ineffective method of sterility.”

In short, for all of its highly touted benefits, the reality is that irradiation can be a very ineffective way to destroy the pathogens that cause food-borne illness.

The FDA Fails to Protect Consumers from Food-Borne Bacteria

FDA oversights on the safety of both domestic and imported food have been extremely inadequate.

The Consumer Federation addresses these failures in a letter to the FDA. It cites the illnesses and deaths linked to outbreaks of salmonella and E. coli in fresh produce sold in stores in recent years. These bacteria are particularly dangerous for the very young, the very old, pregnant women and those with compromised immune systems.

The FDA has no special guidelines for inspecting either domestic or imported produce. Surprisingly, only a small percentage of imported food of any kind is inspected by the FDA. According to this May 2007 article in USA Today, only 1.3% is government inspected and most of this is found to be “unfit for human consumption.”

Even if these food products are inspected, and manage to pass inspection, they can be contaminated later, during processing. For example, as mentioned earlier, the people handling your food in the grocery store before you bring it home can easily contaminate fruits and vegetables simply by failing to follow proper sanitary procedures after using the restroom.

The Solution?

Clearly, the government is not adequately protecting your health or that of your family. So you are going to have to protect yourself.

The best solution, of course, is to grow your own organic fruits and vegetables, whenever you can, and use safe, natural colloidal silver to help eliminate any harmful pathogens, and to help boost the vitality and yield of your plants.

If you purchase colloidal silver at health food stores or through online sources in high concentrations, ranging from 20 ppm to 500 ppm or more, you’ll generally save money and you can dilute it with distilled water to 5 ppm for use on your plants. Better still, by purchasing (or making) an inexpensive home silver water generator, and making your own high-quality colloidal silver for less than 36 cents a quart, you can use generous amounts of colloidal silver when necessary, or cover larger crop areas, and you’ll never have to worry about affordability.

Use a simple plastic plant mister available at any large supermarket or local gardening outlet to lightly mist all of your garden plants with the diluted colloidal silver. (Don’t use plant misters with metal canisters, as the silver will fall out of suspension in solution and adhere to the sides of the canister.) If your plants are experiencing infections of any kind, spray the affected area thoroughly. Multiple applications are safe. Spraying silver on tomatoes can reverse blight after just one treatment. More severe cases of infection may require daily spraying until the problem is alleviated. Spray the plants when you first notice signs of damage.

Use Colloidal Silver to Wash and Disinfect Produce

When you can’t grow your own fruits and veggies, protect yourself from potentially harmful pathogens by cleansing your produce in a colloidal silver fruit and vegetable wash.

Use a solution of at least 5 to 10 ppm.

Combine the following:

1 cup of water
½ cup of vinegar
2 tsp. salt (dissolve completely)
¼ to ½ cup homemade colloidal silver

You can soak your fruits and vegetables in this solution or you can put it in a spray bottle and spray them.

Either way, let the solution remain on your food for at least five minutes before rinsing and preparing as usual.

The vinegar in this solution helps to break down any waxy substances that are applied to fruits and vegetables. Water alone will not penetrate them, in fact, many pesticides are designed to be water-resistant. Salt helps to pull out any microscopic bugs. The colloidal silver will safely kill any harmful fungal, bacterial or viral pathogens.

Avoid cross-contamination in your kitchen by washing your hands after each different food you prepare, and by taking care to sanitize any surfaces that have come in contact with raw meat or poultry. You can easily do that by spraying or washing your counter tops, cutting boards and other surfaces with this same solution, or even by using straight colloidal silver.

This colloidal silver vegetable wash is a safe, highly effective way to destroy disease-causing pathogens on your store-bought fruits and vegetables at an economical price. Silver water & infected teeth or gums

Colloidal silver is considered by many users to be one of the simplest and most effective all-natural remedies in existence for healing infected teeth and gums. Here’s the evidence..

3-step protocol:

Step #1.) I use a small mouthful of 10 ppm colloidal silver to brush over the infected area thoroughly, if it’s not too painful. The idea is to use the brush to work colloidal silver all around the tooth and surrounding gums.

If it’s strictly a gum infection, I use the toothbrush to brush over the infected area of the gum rather forcefully with colloidal silver in order to force any bacteria out. It will usually bleed a bit, but the next step takes care of that problem, in my experience.

I end by spitting out the colloidal silver and then rinsing for 15 or 20 seconds with another mouthful. (Again, if the infected area is too painful, I skip this step entirely and go straight to step two.)

Step #2.) Directly after brushing with colloidal silver, and rinsing, I then hold a fresh mouthful of the colloidal silver in my mouth for as long as I can, i.e., at least 7-10 minutes.

I just alternate between swishing the colloidal silver around from time to time, and then holding it directly over the infected area.

After 7-10 minutes of doing this I spit it out and repeat the procedure for another 7-10 minutes. Then I repeat this procedure several more times throughout the course of the day.

Step #3.) If the infection is a particularly nasty one, I generally also increase my oral dosage of colloidal silver to anywhere from four to eight ounces a day, in divided doses throughout the day (i.e., several ounces in the morning, several in the afternoon, and several in the evening) but only for a few days until the problem is resolved.

Problem Solved!

Usually, in my personal experience, after only three days of following the above protocol my tooth or gum infection is gone. Everything is back to normal.

I generally follow up for at least a few more days by taking somewhat lower oral dosages of colloidal silver (i.e., several ounces a day), as well as by rinsing my teeth and gums thoroughly with colloidal silver several times a day after brushing.

By following this simple protocol I’ve saved thousands of dollars in dentist bills over the past 16 years. And it has saved me from having to take expensive prescription antibiotic drugs, to boot!

Colloidal silver appears to be a powerful, natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. Acting as a catalyst, it reportedly disables the enzyme that one-celled bacteria, viruses and fungi need for their oxygen metabolism. They suffocate without corresponding harm occurring to human enzymes or parts of the human body chemistry. The result is the destruction of disease-causing organisms in the body and in the food.

Early Research

Colloidal silver was in common use until 1938. Many remember their grandparents putting silver dollars in milk to prolong its freshness at room temperature. At the turn of the century, scientists had discovered that the body’s most important fluids are colloidal in nature: suspended ultra-fine particles. Blood, for example, carries nutrition and oxygen to the body cells. This led to studies with colloidal silver. Prior to 1938, colloidal silver was used by physicians as a mainstream antibiotic treatment and was considered quite “high-tech.” Production methods, however, were costly. The pharmaceutical industry moved in, causing colloidal research to be set aside in favor of fast working and financially lucrative drugs.

The Food and Drug Administration today classifies colloidal silver as a pre-1938 drug. A letter from the FDA dated 9/13/91 states: “These products may continue to be marketed . . . as long as they are advertised and labeled for the same use as in 1938 and as long as they are manufactured in the original manner.” Some of the manufacturing methods used before 1938 are still used today. An electro-colloidal process, which is known to be the best method, is used.

Contemporary Studies

While studying regeneration of limbs, spinal cords and organs in the late 1970s, Robert O. Becker, M.D., author of The Body Electric, discovered that silver ions promote bone growth and kill surrounding bacteria. The March 1978 issue of Science Digest, in an article, “Our Mightiest Germ Fighter,” reported: “Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of modern medicine. An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650. Resistant strains fail to develop. Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic.” The article ended with a quote by Dr. Harry Margraf, a biochemist and pioneering silver researcher who worked with the late Carl Moyer, M.D., chairman of Washington University’s Department of Surgery in the 1970s: “Silver is the best all-around germ fighter we have.”

How It Works

The presence of colloidal silver near a virus, fungus, bacterium or any other single celled pathogen disables its oxygen metabolism enzyme, its chemical lung, so to say. Within a few minutes, the pathogen suffocates and dies, and is cleared out of the body by the immune, lymphatic and elimination systems. Unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics, which destroy beneficial enzymes, colloidal silver leaves these tissue-cell enzymes intact, as they are radically different from the enzymes of primitive single-celled life. Thus colloidal silver is absolutely safe for humans, reptiles, plants and all multi-celled living matter.

Product Quality

Many brands of colloidal silver are inferior. The highest grade is produced by the electro-colloidal / non-chemical method where the silver particles and water have been colloided, i.e., dispersed within and bound to each other by an electric current. The super-fine silver particles are suspended indefinitely in demineralized water. The ideal color of colloidal silver is a golden yellow. Darker colors indicate larger silver particles that tend to collect at the bottom of the container and are not true colloids. If a product contains a stabilizer or lists trace elements other than silver, or if it needs to be shaken, it is inferior. If a product requires refrigeration, some other ingredient is present that could spoil. The container and dropper must be glass, as plastic cannot preserve the silver in liquid suspension for any length of time. Some brands with high concentrations of silver may actually not be completely safe. High concentrations of silver do not kill disease germs more effectively than the safe range of 3 to 5 parts per million (ppm.).

Ingesting Colloidal Silver

Taken orally, the silver solution is absorbed from the mouth into the bloodstream, then transported quickly to the body cells. Swishing the solution under the tongue briefly before swallowing may result in faster absorption. In three to four days the silver may accumulate in the tissues sufficiently for benefits to begin. Colloidal silver is eliminated by the kidneys, lymph system and bowel after several weeks. If routinely exposed to dangerous pathogenic germs, some recommend a regular daily intake as a protection. In cases of minor burns, an accumulation of colloidal silver may hasten healing, reducing the possibility of scar tissue and infection. It is believed by many in the natural healing arts that the lives of millions of people who are susceptible to chronic low-grade infections can be enhanced by this preventative health measure.

Chronic or Serious Conditions

1 teaspoon of 5 ppm. colloidal silver equals about 25 micrograms (mcg.) of silver. 1 – 4 teaspoons per day (25 – 100 mcg.) is generally considered to be a “nutritional amount” and is reported to be safe to use for extended periods of time. Amounts higher than this are generally considered “therapeutic amounts” and should only be used periodically.

In cases of illness, natural health practitioners have often recommended taking double or triple the “nutritional amount” for 30 to 45 days, then dropping down to a smaller maintenance dose. Amounts from 1 – 32 ounces per day have reportedly been used in acute conditions.

If your body is extremely ill or toxic, do not be in a hurry to clear up everything at once. If pathogens are killed off too quickly, the body’s five eliminatory channels (liver, kidneys, skin, lungs and bowel) may be temporarily overloaded, causing flu-like conditions, headache, extreme fatigue, dizziness, nausea or aching muscles. Ease off on the colloidal silver to a smaller amount and increase your distilled water intake. Regular bowel movements are a must in order to relieve the discomforts of detoxification. Resolve to reduce sugar and saturated fats from the diet, and exercise more. Given the opportunity, the body’s natural ability to heal may amaze you.

Topical Uses

Some have used colloidal silver in a nasal spray mister – to reach the sinuses and nasal passages. Spray bottles have been used for topical use on kitchen and bathroom surfaces, skin, sore throat, eyes, burns, etc. Colloidal silver is painless on cuts, abrasions, in open wounds, in the nostrils for a stuffy nose, and even in a baby’s eyes because, unlike some antiseptics, it does not destroy tissue cells. It’s excellent as an underarm deodorant, since most underarm odor is caused by bacteria breaking down substances released by the sweat glands!

Some Common Uses of Colloidal Silver

Natural health practitioners have for years recommended taking one tablespoon daily, for four days, to establish a level, then one teaspoon daily for maintenance (proportional to body weight for children). After six weeks, a pause of several weeks has also been recommended by some natural healing arts doctors. Also, colloidal silver can be applied directly to cuts, scrapes, and open sores, or on a bandage for warts. It can be applied on eczema, itches, acne or bug bites. To purify water, add one tablespoon per gallon, shake well and wait six minutes. Mixed this way, it’s tasteless. It is not an allopathic poison.

Veterinary and Garden Use

Colloidal silver has worked just as well on pets of all kinds. Used in proportion to body weight, it should bring the same results. In the garden, field or greenhouse, add enough to the water or soil – and the plants will do the rest.

Tolerance To Disease Organisms

We have all heard of the “super-germs” that are resistant to most modern antibiotics. Some believe that single-celled germs cannot mutate into silver-resistant forms, as happens with conventional antibiotics. Therefore no tolerance to colloidal silver would develop through mutation. Also, colloidal silver has not been demonstrated to interact or interfere with other medicines being taken. Inside the body, silver apparently does not form toxic compounds or react with anything other than a germ’s oxygen-metabolizing enzyme. Colloidal silver may truly be a safe, natural remedy for many of mankind’s ills.

Additionally, there has never been a drug interaction reported between colloidal silver and any other medication. It’s difficult to overdose – unless large amounts are ingested. Colloidal silver has been reported by users to be both a remedy and a prevention for numerous infections, colds, flus, and fermentations due to various bacteria, viruses or fungi, even the non-apparent low-grade, general body infections many people have. Living organisms are in the colloidal chemical state, not the crystalline state. Substances already in that form may be more readily assimilated by the body. Colloidal silver is the most useable form of a reputedly effective germ fighter.

A colloidal suspension is ultra-fine particles of one substance, suspended by an electric charge in another substance. Homogenized milk and aerosol sprays are colloidal suspensions. Colloidal silver is pure, metallic silver (not a chemical compound) of particles 15 atoms or fewer, each with a positive electric charge, and attached to a molecule of simple protein. This new particle floats in pure water. The electric charge is stronger than gravity so the silver particles don’t sink.

Colloidal Silver in Advance of Illness?

When the possibility of germ exposure is higher, colloidal silver can be taken orally each day or applied topically when there is a skin problem. It’s like having a second defense system. The silver acts only as a catalyst and is stabilized. It is non-toxic, except to one-cell plants and animals, and is non-addicting. It also apparently kills parasites because they have a one cell egg stage in their reproductive cycle.

Older folks reportedly feel younger because their body energies are used for other uses than constantly fighting disease. Digestion has also been reportedly better. Medical research has shown that silver promotes more rapid healing, with less scar tissue, even in the case of severe burns. Successes have been reported in cases that previously have been given up by established doctors. Colloidal silver is tasteless and won’t sting even a baby’s eyes, and won’t upset your stomach.

More Than 650 Diseases Helped?

Colloidal silver has been reported to kill 650 micro-organisms, many of which are associated with human diseases. This does notautomatically mean that taking colloidal silver will “cure” diseases “caused” by these germs. Colloidal silver only kills micro-organisms when they are in contact with it for a sufficient period of time. The human body is a complex system which may prevent high enough concentrations of colloidal silver from reaching the “affected area”.

The basic guideline that has been recommended for using colloidal silver is that it usually “works” if you can get a high enough concentration to the “affected area”. Some will want to experiment with “higher amounts” (such as 8 or more ounces at a time) to find out what it takes to accomplish this. Do not use colloidal silver if you are allergic to contact with silver metals, or if you notice any digestive upset after use.

So . . it turns out cancer can be killed after all

“Your lives are going to change forever,” the Urologist told us after removing a golf ball sized tumor from my wife’s bladder. “The cancer has spread into the muscle wall and the only course of action is to remove the bladder. CANCER IS HORRIBLE AND DEADLY..BUT CURABLE.

Cancer is a disease affecting most of us. No one is immune to this horrible disease. I have seen friends who succumbed to it in their prime. I have seen families destroyed mentally and financially by it. The cause of cancer have been known for centuries. The cure of this disease have also been known for centuries too. Incredibly, in spite of the fact that the cure had been discovered long time ago, still millions died of it.

WHY?

33 billions dollars are so far “spent” to cancer research. But these research are bogus. The “Controllers” have already found the cure. It is in the archive of Rockefella Foundation. Instead, the medical community stick to the two horribly painful and deadly methods – CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIATION.

ONCOLOGISTS DO NOT WANT TO BE TREATED BY THESE POISONS.

A survey of Oncologists conducted few years ago shows that majority will not use chemo and radiation if they and their families will have cancer. One oncologist even stated that he rather go to Mexico for alternative cure than to take these poisons.

Clearly, these treatments are not the real one. Instead, these treatments are poison that attack the body’s’ natural defense against this disease. Chemo and radiation kills healthy organs and cells causing long painful lingering death. It guarantees the patients to rapidly terminate their life.
